Stanley Kubrick

Stanley Kubrick was born in 1928 in Manhattan, New York. He was interested in cameras and he became an apprentice photographer in 1945. He produced a short documentary in 1951 and he began to take an interest in filmmaking. His first movie was Fear and Desire(1953), which was praised by New York critics. He continued to make many movies after that.

His most famous movie is 2001:A Space Odyssey. This movie is a SF and suspense movie. This movie was released in 1968.The second most popular is A Clockwork Orange. The genre of this movie is drama. This movie was released in 1971. The third most popular movie is Dr. Strangelove. The genre of this movie is comedy. This movie was released in 1964.

I watched Barry Lyndon. This movie was released in 1975. The movie starred Ryan O'Neal. This movie won an Academy Award for Best Cinematography, a Song Award, an Art Award, and a Costume Design Award. The film cost $ 11 million to produce and it had box office revenue of about $ 20 million.

This genre of this movie is drama. The movie is set in 18th century Europe .I didn't know the history of Europe at all, so it was a little difficult to talk about. I think this movie will be helpful for those who are studying European history because it depicts the war and the life of aristocrats at that time. I first saw 2001: A space odyssey, but I couldn't choose it because it was his most popular movie. 2001: A Space Odyssey had few characters, but Barry Lindon had various characters.

I've only seen a few drama movies because I like science fiction and fantasy movies, but after seeing Barry Lyndon, I started to get interested in European history. I think it's difficult to understand this movie without knowing about European history. There is less violence, but there are several duels, so those who don't like violence at it should be careful. His movie is good at portraying landscapes, so please take a look.
